Description
Ring of Brodgar, Orkney. The diameter (one hundred meters) of this enormous stone circle overlooking Harray Loch in Orkney ranks as the biggest in Scotland. Sixty stones were reckoned to have been in the original ring, and it is likely to have been a contemporary to the Skara Brae settlement, the formation of which was around 3000 BC. The legendary Standing Stones of Stenness are just a short walk away…
