Donald Ford Images - Scotland's golf and landscape photographer

The Splendour of Scotland

As 2019 relentlessly approaches, realisation by Donald that it will also herald his 75th. birthday has caused a fair amount of head scratching over how long his energy (and left knee!) will last. Both are essential to the capture of high quality photographs around Scotland and - inevitably - he realises that the commitment necessary to continue his enjoyment of it all has recently required careful examination. The photography for his much admired calendar productions could, with luck, continue for a year or two, but with 'the last lap' in sight, he has decided to publish a final photobook, which will feature a special collection of his favourite photographs from twenty seven years of Scottish landscape photography.

With but a few copies remaining of his much admired DVD "The Splendour of Scotland", he thought it fitting that his final coffee table book could not be deserving of a better title. He ultimately chose one hundred and twelve of his favourite shots (at least thirty additional ones could have been incorporated but its subsequent weight may WELL have dissuaded potential customers from investing - so sense had to prevail!

His final selection tries hard to cover the quite spectacular scenery to be found all over Scotland; to use the weather, the seasons, the light and, inevitably - a fair amount of human endeavour over the many centuries of building this absolutely captivating, breathtaking and unique country. These essential ingredients have been foremost in his mind as he strove to add his own characterful compositions to the many thousands - if not millions - of tremendous photographs which now adorn portfolios of Scotland's landscape by umpteen legendary photographers across the world.

Copies of the book are now in stock........
