"From The Heart" was Donald's first-ever photographic publication.
By June 1995 the Gallery was open in South Queensferry and the urge to produce something which told the story of five very traumatic years following the sale of his accounting practice resulted in this autobiographical "report card"!
As the title suggests, he pulls no punches in describing the highs and lows (there were more than a few of the latter) experienced in getting his new photgraphic career on the road - at times quite literally - while some sixty photographs from those early years of adventures around Scotland are beautifully reproduced.
There is also a chapter which offers helpful advice to budding photographers, a detailed list of all his camera equipment plus stories of trips to some of his favourite Scottish locations - and a few of the hilarious escapades as well.
