There can be few Scottish golf courses which create so much fun (and, it must be said, so much gnashing of teeth as well, as balls disappear into ferns, trees and other impenetrable vegetation at regular intervals!) as the Glencruitten venue in the hillside above Oban.

Within five minutes of teeing off, the golfer is required to execute (with sixty per cent guesswork and forty per cent skill!) a blind approach shot to the first green some seventy feet above him and on the other side of a gigantic mound.  This totally sets the scene for the entire round but, for the amateur at least, it is the epitome of fun golf in fantastic surroundings and every possible variation of club use, selection and execution is fully tested!

The presentation of the course in high summer is just gorgeous and it is impossible to believe that even the least-gifted among the ordinary golfing mortals will not enjoy themselves as they take on the challenge of this unique adventure.
