Donald Ford Images - Scotland's golf and landscape photographer

Gleneagles at its best

It is difficult to find glorious Gleneagles ( when the weather behaves! ) in anything other than outstanding condition. From the aspects of either tackling the captivating challenges of the Kings and Queens courses, or simply taking in the sumptuous views across to Glendevon and the Ochil Hills, the beauty of the location is, arguably, unsurpassed in Scotland.

Having been fortunate enough recently to be invited for a game on the Queens - which ( in spite of VERY heavy morning rain ) was in fantastic condition - I still took time to admire the terrific photographic possibilities which surround almost the entire course. In particular, the views from the higher points of the splendid layout allowed sumptuous panoramas towards some sparkling heather displays on the hillsides some four or five miles away to the south.

It took little thought, therefore, to decide on a quick return visit ( with camera equipment rather than clubs ) to see if I could do justice to the latest presentation by Mother Nature and the Gleneagles green keeping staff! Fingers were crossed that the weather would play ball…….judge for yourself herewith. I couldnt do the heather justice, but the skies were just brilliant!
