Donald Ford Images - Scotland's golf and landscape photographer

Photo Books get nearer.....!

While another week of pretty lousy weather has AGAIN blighted photographic plans, one bit of impending excitement threatens to lift the air of depression which has been settling on my shoulders over the absence of new additions to the portfolio in recent weeks. My idea to launch a series of Photo Books, with several different versions becoming available on both landscape and golf images, is about to produce a prototype. Helped enormously by input from sons Campbell and Alistair ( what a shame my age group lost out on basic computer training! ) the draft of "A Photographic Celebration of the County of Angus" is now at the printer. Hopefully it will arrive at the office next week, so stand by for first reports.

While hard copies of written or photographic work have given way recently to the swiftly moving advances in visual technologies, I believe there is still a desire to enjoy permanent records of Scotland's great golf courses and magnificent landscape in books and other publications. The arrival of digital printing has meant that 'short runs' are now also feasible and, while slightly more expensive than traditional lithographic versions, allow small businesses like my own to publish and distribute their photography to customers when, until now, the need to print upwards of 500 or 1000 copies simply could not have been contemplated.

As always, of course, you - the customer - will decide whether you want the product or not but, at the end of the day, the hope is that the marketing of this new and exciting addition to my publication list will be rewarded by sales. All being well, both of us should NOT have long to wait to see what transpires!
